The Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry

CANCELLATION OF HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

When a reservation for hotel accommodation only, with or without breakfast, is made for one or more individuals, the following applies to the cancellation of that reservation:

Until when can I cancel free of charge?

You can cancel all types of reservations, except for non-refundable and early-bird reservations, free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival, i.e. up to 15:00 one day before arrival.

hat time is meant by ‘15:00 one day before arrival’?

The possible check-in time varies per hotel, please check the terms and conditions of the relevant hotel. You can also cancel your reservation free of charge until 15:00 (3 pm) one day before arrival, except for non-refundable and early-bird reservations.

Did you rent a suite or family room?

Each hotel has its own cancellation policy for suites and family rooms. You can find these specific conditions on the booking confirmation.

What is a non-refundable reservation?

This is a reservation which you have to pay for online when booking and which cannot be cancelled or changed afterwards.

Why should I choose the non-refundable rate?

Because you give up flexible cancellation and pay for the booking directly online, we give you a discount. The non-refundable rate is therefore always the cheapest rate available.

What is an early-bird reservation?

This is a reservation with an extra competitive rate for the early-bird booker, to be paid directly online. This rate cannot be cancelled or changed free of charge. The early-bird conditions vary per hotel, please ask the hotel for their early-bird conditions.

What is a last-minute reservation?

A last minute is a reservation with a competitive rate booked at short notice. This means that the accommodation booked will take place within 2 weeks at the time of booking. Last minutes can only be found on a last minute page and not among the packages, rooms or other promotions.

HOUSE RULES VAN DER VALK HOTEL LELYSTAD

In the regulations below you will find the most important house rules that apply within our hotel. We ask you to respect and accept these rules.

  • When checking in, a valid identity document must be shown for each room. The main booking party must be 18 years or older.
  • It is not allowed to be present with more persons than the number for which a reservation has been made. Visitors must identify themselves at reception.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all rooms. In case of violation, this is subject to a fine of €250.00. If the fire alarm goes off due to smoking in the room, you will be charged an additional €300.00 for the fire brigade's call-out charge.
  • Candles are not allowed in the room for fire safety reasons.
  • If Van der Valk property is damaged, we will hold you liable for the costs.
  • Emergency exits may not be used without an emergency.
  • The use and/or trading of narcotics is not allowed. In case of violation, you will be immediately removed from our hotel without refund.
  • Use of nitrous oxide is not allowed. In case of violation, this is subject to a fine of €150.00.
  • Please do not cause nuisance in and around the hotel by loud music, unruly behaviour or noise of any kind. We respect your privacy under all circumstances, however, we are authorised to enter your room in case of ‘’non-compliance with our house rules‘’.
  • Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad is not responsible for loss or theft of your belongings. Should you leave belongings in the hotel room, this is at your own risk.
  • Verbal and/or physical violence will not be tolerated.

We operate a zero tolerance policy. This means that if you do not comply with our house rules, no warning will be given and you will be asked to leave the hotel immediately. No money will be returned and any deposit paid will be retained. Your signature indicates your agreement to comply with our house rules. Without your signature, we will unfortunately not be able to check you in.
