At Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad, we do everything we can to make our youngest guests feel welcome and we welcome children with open arms! There is plenty to do for children in the hotel. Kids can have fun in the special children's corner of our restaurant or the playground next to the outdoor terrace. In the restaurant, the exciting Timo Toucan coloring contest is a favorite. Spacious family suites

When you as a family go away for a night or weekend, it is of course nice to sleep together in one room. For this special occasion, we have spacious rooms. The family suites are ideal for a stay with children and feature a double rain shower and an XL whirlpool bath. This way, the children can splash around in the bath. In addition, the children have a separate themed room with a large bunk bed with a television, an exciting slide, and a beautiful starry sky.

How cool is it to sleep in the adventurous space, a fairytale forest full of animals, the green jungle, or in the funny circus? After a lovely night, the children start the day well with a cozy Disney movie on the smart television with Chromecast features while the parents enjoy a well-deserved cup of coffee or tea. In the family suites, you all enjoy a wonderful overnight stay together. Good night!

Play corner in the restaurant

In the restaurant, a separate children's area has been set up especially for our youngest diners, filled with fun activities and toys. Of course, it is also possible to watch a fun series or movie in the play corner. The advantage of the play corner in our restaurant is the enclosed space. The children's corner is actually a separate room with transparent walls. This way, parents can keep an eye on their children while they are playing.

Special children's menu

In addition to an adventurous playground, our restaurant offers a special children's menu full of tasty snacks and delicious desserts. Of course, it is also possible to simply enjoy a 3-course meal with a warm children's tomato soup, a children's carpaccio, a special children's schnitzel, tasty snacks, and a special children's ice cream sundae or a Magnum Dame Blanche. Enjoy your meal!

During the meal, the children will also receive a special Timo Toucan coloring sheet and crayons and can participate in the Timo Toucan coloring contest. By submitting the colored drawing, the children will receive a nice gift. If they have made the most beautiful drawing, they also have a chance to win great prizes!

Playground next to the outdoor terrace

Right next to our relaxing outdoor terrace is the children's playground. A place where kids can have fun and parents can enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a delicious lunch. The playground features an adventurous play structure with a slide, climbing frames, and swings. Additionally, the playground is easily accessible from the terrace and completely fenced. Ideal for our youngest visitors!

Indoor swimming pool

Most children love swimming. And at Hotel Lelystad, you don't have to leave the door for it. The hotel has its own heated swimming pool. Enjoy hours of water fun. Take a refreshing dip in the pool with the whole family. While the children splash around in the water with one of the parents, the other can relax in our delightful sauna, snow shower, or magnesium baths.

Adventurous outings in the area

Not only is there plenty to do for the children in the hotel, but the surroundings of Hotel Lelystad are also a party for the kids. A day out to a theme park with children is always a good idea! Or how about a day in the nature playground, among fairy tales or among the animals? Luckily, there are plenty of outings to be found in the area of Lelystad. What do you think of a trip to the adventure forest? With 40 hectares of land and over 140 play equipment, the children won't get bored for a minute here.

In the Hansel and Gretel play park, fairy tales come to life and children act out the well-known fairy tale, frolic in the large haystack, or follow the breadcrumb trail with the whole family. Walibi is also located near the hotel. Here, you can scream your lungs out or participate in the exciting splash battle with the whole family.
