Jeu de Boules

Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad has two Petanque courts. Boules can be picked up at the reception.

Rules of the game

• The throw takes place from the throwing circle. Both feet of the player must be inside the circle.

• The beginner player throws the jack.

• The first player tries to throw the boule as close as possible to the jack.

• Now it's the opponent's turn. They try to throw a boule closer to the jack. This can be done by throwing a boule closer or by knocking away a boule of the opponent.

  • If successful, then it's the other team's turn again.

  • If they fail, the same team can continue throwing until they succeed. Once all your balls have been thrown, it's the opposing team's turn.

• When all boules have been played, the winning team receives as many points as the number of balls closer to the jack than the best boule of the opposing team.

• The team that won the previous throwing round may start the new throwing round. The throwing circle is placed again.

• The team that first reaches 13 points is the winner.

• If during the game the ball goes out of bounds, the game round will be replayed.
